Lead Times

Lead Times

Our typical production lead time is approximately three months after final approved cut sheets, regardless of project size. Because CSI is capable of producing large quantities efficiently, the most important part of the process is establishing accurate, verified information before fabrication begins.

The typical project workflow is as follows:

1. Architectural Drawing Review
CSI receives the architectural drawings and reviews the project with the architect and design team. During this phase, the appropriate CSI products, systems, materials, and finishes are identified and specified.

2. Shop Drawings
CSI develops a coordinated set of shop drawings based on the architectural documents. These drawings may include panel layouts, dimensions, details, section cuts, attachment conditions, and isometric views where necessary to clearly communicate the intended system.

3. Bidding & Installer Selection
The coordinated drawings are then used for bidding by qualified subcontractors and/or general contractors. Once the installer has been selected and placed under contract, the project moves into field verification.

4. Field Verification / As-Built Conditions
The installer is responsible for verifying dimensions and actual field conditions. The general contractor must provide CSI with the information necessary for the shop drawings to accurately reflect the as-built substrate and surrounding construction. Whenever practical, CSI recommends using
3D laser scanning to document the building and substrate. The scan provides highly accurate as-built information that can be compared directly against the architectural and shop drawings before fabrication begins.

5. Final Shop Drawing Approval
Once field conditions have been incorporated, the final shop drawings are reviewed and signed off by the appropriate parties.

6. Fabrication Cut Sheets
CSI then produces fabrication cut sheets for the individual components. These establish the exact geometry, dimensions, quantities, and fabrication requirements for production.

7. Cut Sheet Approval & Production
Once the fabrication cut sheets have been reviewed and approved, the project is released into production.

Production Lead Time

From the date of final approved fabrication cut sheets, typical production time is approximately 12 weeks / 3 months.

The size of the project generally has less impact on lead time than the completeness and accuracy of the information provided. Once CSI knows exactly what needs to be fabricated, our production capabilities allow us to manufacture substantial quantities efficiently.

Accurate information before fabrication means faster production, fewer field modifications, and a better finished installation.
