Project Narrative

The new Terminal C at Orlando International Airport serves as the region's iconic transportation gateway, blending architectural clarity with warm, modern materiality. CSI's welded aluminum plate systems contribute to the signature soffit and façade expression, delivering precision-engineered panels designed to withstand heavy public use, Florida's demanding climate, and long-term operational requirements.

CSI's involvement extended far beyond fabrication. Through design-assist collaboration, engineering support, mock-ups, field verification, and installation coordination, CSI helped transform the architectural vision into a durable, high-performance reality. The result is a world-class transportation facility that showcases craftsmanship, innovation, and lasting strength at every scale.

Architects

HNTB & Fentress Architects

CSI collaborated closely with HNTB and Fentress Architects throughout concept development, detailing, and execution. The design team selected CSI based on proven expertise in precision fabrication, innovative panel engineering, and installation-focused detailing. CSI's clean architectural expression and commitment to craftsmanship helped support the terminal's modern, light-filled vision.

General Contractors

Turner Construction / Hensel Phelps

CSI has partnered with both contractors for nearly two decades. Company leadership has worked with them for over 25 years, beginning with on-site field leadership experience prior to founding CSI.

CSI participated in design and procurement meetings with Turner and the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority beginning in 2017, with formal award in 2020. CSI's longstanding partnership with Turner Construction and Hensel Phelps helped foster efficient coordination, proactive problem-solving, and successful execution throughout the multi-year project lifecycle.

Installer

Cleveland Construction, Inc.

Though Cleveland Construction had no prior experience with this type of advanced plate-metal system, CSI ensured success. CSI provided extensive support during pre-construction, mock-ups, field-measure verification, and installation — including 53+ project site visits during COVID-era execution to ensure quality and correct installation practices.

CSI Scope

CSI Architectural Metal provided multiple welded aluminum plate cladding systems engineered for durability, architectural performance, and installation efficiency in one of the nation's most demanding aviation environments.
